Team Spotlight: Chris DeGroff
Chris DeGroff is a VP of HR Consulting for HCC. She is the dedicated HR Consultant for many of our clients and also manages HR for HCC’s internal staff. Whether it be setting up handbooks, managing investigations, implementing customer service standards, or assisting with performance appraisals, Chris supports HCC clients in mitigating risk for their organization.

With over 18 years of HR experience, a B.S. from Ohio University, and an SHRM-SCP designation (Society for Human Resources Management – Senior Certified Professional), Chris has always been in outwardly focused industries that require the highest level of customer satisfaction to be successful. She is very customer service driven and expects excellence from herself and her team.
Chris loves creating a trusting relationship where she can communicate with employers and their employees in a clear, honest way that keeps even the hardest situation in perspective. “It always helps when we all can keep a little sense of humor, too.”
To Chris, success in her role can range from guiding and conducting a harassment investigation for an employer, to talking to an employee or their spouse at 8:00 p.m. to ensure they understand their benefits.
Personally, Chris has a passion for food insecurity and food sustainability. She is involved in the Cooking Matters program through the Indy Hunger Network that provides cooking and nutrition education classes throughout Marion County. She is also involved in Pass the Torch, a mentoring program for young women looking to enhance their careers.
